The Coaching and Consulting Funnel Playbook

Coaches sell trust, and trust takes a few touches. This playbook is the sequence of touches we build, from a first download to a delivered program, so the calendar fills with people who already know the coach is right for them.

The flow

Download → nurture → apply → discovery call → offer → onboard → deliver → ask for a referral. One pipeline, six stages. The funnel pages follow the booking funnel anatomy; the messaging follows the tone rules from the other playbooks: short, personal, one question at a time.

Lead magnet and nurture

A useful download (a checklist, a short assessment, a template) delivered instantly, then five emails over ten days, each teaching one thing the audience actually struggles with. The call is mentioned in every email but sold in none until the last. Opens and clicks tag the contact so the coach can see who is engaged. Anyone who books early leaves the sequence automatically.

Application, not just booking

Before the calendar, a short application: what they're working on, what they've tried, what they'd want from working together, and a budget range. Built with the qualifying-form approach. Good-fit answers unlock the calendar immediately; others get a kind message and a resource. Applied leads show up to calls far more reliably, and the coach walks in prepared.

Show the coach's face early

A short video on the application and thank-you pages, from the coach, saying what the call is and isn't. Trust in a person is the product; the pages should reflect that.

Discovery call

Confirmation, reminders and a pre-call question follow the thank-you page playbook. After the call, one of two automations: the offer sequence with a proposal and payment link, or a "not now" sequence that keeps the relationship warm quarterly. Both are one click for the coach.

Delivery in the same system

Payment unlocks a GoHighLevel membership area with the program content, onboarding steps and session booking. Progress is tracked on the contact; a stalled client triggers a check-in. Renewals, upsells and referral asks are automations at the right milestones. The coach spends time coaching instead of administering.

What to measure

Download-to-call rate, application-to-show rate, call-to-client rate, and revenue by lead magnet from UTM tracking. Watching these four monthly tells the coach which content brings the right people and where the sequence needs attention.

Key takeaways

  • Lead magnet → five-email nurture → application form → discovery call → offer → delivery, all in one pipeline.
  • The nurture teaches something real in each email. Value first, call later.
  • An application form before the calendar filters for fit and raises show-up rates.
  • Deliver the program in a GoHighLevel membership area so onboarding is automatic.
  • Measure download-to-call and call-to-client rates; both should improve month by month.
